Trailer Cutdowns 2024

Throughout 2024, I worked on a series of trailer cutdowns for Amazon Prime Video, collaborating closely with producers at both Leap and Amazon. These projects involved taking full-length trailers and condensing them into concise, engaging 16×9 formats while maintaining their core messaging and appeal.

Some of the key titles I worked on included:

These were just the standout picks; I handled several more titles across different languages.

In my role, I dove into offline creative editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, where I had the challenge of spinning captivating tales from film synopses within just 15 seconds. It’s like trying to fit a blockbuster into a TikTok – not always easy! With such a tight window, I had to focus on highlighting those intriguing moments or standout details that would hook viewers and make them want to dive deeper.

Challenges:

One of the main challenges with these projects was navigating language barriers, especially with translations and localization. Working on trailers in German, Spanish, and French often required additional attention to detail to ensure the messaging resonated with the target audience.

Another challenge was dealing with source files that sometimes lacked audio stems, which limited my creative freedom when selecting shots and synchronizing them with music or dialogue. Additionally, there was a new branding guideline that had to be implemented across all the trailers, requiring a consistent and updated visual style throughout the production process.

Despite these challenges, I delivered high-quality trailer cutdowns that met Amazon Prime Video’s standards and effectively promoted their content to international audiences.
